This is a blog for the Clock Tower Disc Golf League, an employee league that also includes family and friends from outside the Clock Tower work environment as well as any disc golfer that's interested in reading or following it. The blog author, Joe Nobiling, a recreational player, is still learning. And has a LOT TO LEARN!!!

The Felix Castro 3 Disc Challenge
Eight Clock Tower Disc Golf League players waited out the rain last Thursday to participate in The Felix Castro 3 Disc Challenge at Slattery Park in Davenport. Each player's entry fee netted them a specially stamped Discraft driver, mid-range and putter.
Felix and Tom waiting out the storm before getting to pick their discs.
There were two models of drivers to choose from, a Surge (Z Plastic) or a Stalker (CryZtal Plastic). The mid-range discs were Buzzzes in either Z Plastic or CryZtal Plastic. (Any Buzzz is a great mid-range in my opinion.) The putters were Bangers in Pro-D Plastic.
A good time was had by all as most had never thrown either of the disc models except for Felix and I who both use Buzzzes. Thus, the challenge of playing with discs we'd never thrown before. I believe all left with a better understanding of the discs acquired as participants in this challenge.
Jotham focusing on his upshot.
Pete focusing on his upshot.
Felix throwing his upshot on No. 2.
Shawn Clark teeing off. Shawn took first place with a score of 54.
Tom Lafrenz taking his upshot to the basket on No. 5. Tom took second place with a score of 55!
There are still some Buzzzes, Surges and Stalkers available for purchase. The Credit Union will have a sample of each of the discs available on display. Purchases can be made by contacting Joe Nobiling at 309-794-5671 or visiting me at my desk, if you work at the Clock Tower.
And the winners of the Close To Pin discs are; Shawn Clark, Felix Castro and Jotham Povich! Todd Hazen is on the far left and Yogi Patel is on the far right.
