The Furtherest Flying Disc Golf Disc

Recently came across a new (to me) disc golf blog, Body Mind Disc, that contains some good posts with common sense at the core. The subject of The Furtherest Flying Disc Golf Disc post definitely rings true in my ears!

In order to get the heart of the matter and the answer to the burning question of what is the furtherest flying disc golf disc?, go to the post!

Throwing Forehand - Isolating Spin from Power

Here's a silent movie (almost!) on the subject of disc golf forehand throws. The presenter, still unknown to me, is knowledgable.

Here's another video on throwing sidearm.

Backhand Drive Body Positioning

It'd be nice to have more info on the presenter in these videos as he's quite good and very knowledgable about his subject matter. The video below deals with position of the body when performing a backhand disc golf drive.

An interesting look at introducing disc golf to people who've never seen a golf disc or heard of the sport. Location, as the title states, is in Tanzania. Enjoy!

Iceland Disc Golf - shots, angles, and wind

The video below provides a few pointers about mid-range shots, drives, angles, and wind. It takes place at Gufunes disc golf course in Reykjavik, Iceland. The instructor has a bit different follow through than I've seen before. He also, at least not here, doesn't mention weight shift from the rear leg to the front leg. He does speak about having "slow feet." It's not a bad presentation on shots and their angles. There's also some good points on his grip and throwing into or with the wind.

Tomas Ekström In The Bag

I thought this was an interesting "In the Bag" as it features Tomas Ekström, a pro player from Sweden. His English is pretty good and he sounds nothing like the Swedish Chef! Probably the most interesting part is he's a Latitude player and we get to hear and see what he throws from that line of discs. Enjoy!

In The Bag - Patrick Brown

Patrick Brown lives in San Francisco and is a member of the Innova Masters Team. Here's his In the Bag video. It's interesting, at least to me, to see what these folks carry and throw and why. Innova has been making discs from early on. I believe they're the oldest manufacturer of disc golf discs. Hopefully these posts don't promote any one make of disc golf discs over another as they're all good in their own right. Finding the discs that work best for an individual player, whether recreational or competitive, is a journey, no doubt. I still glean these videos for information that makes good sense to me. Ha! If that's possible! RIGHT?!?!? (those than know me should be laughin'!)

Ace during Dirty Dollar$ disc golf round - Mike Frame of Brown Park Fame

Dirty Dollar$ is a betting affair on the disc golf course.

Dirty Dollars Dirty Dollar$ - everyone who wants into the pot puts in a dollar and takes a tee shot on each hole. Alternate: Everyone who wants in (optional) throws down a dollar on the teepad - in the dirt thus the Dirty part of the bets - BEFORE people start throwing. Whoever is CTP collects the dollars, but we play that you have to validate, ie you have to make the putt for 2. With a mob this is tons of fun.

Then whomever on the hole was closest to the pin on a particular hole has to execute a birdie putt to collect the money. If they make it, the pot is theirs, if they miss, it carries over to the next hole.

Two common bets that can occur in disc golf are 51 - $5 for an ace and $1 for metal, and, 521 - $5 for an ace, $2 for chains, $1 for metal. Don't think I'll have that kind of disposable income to participate in a round like these. But, you never know. Might get a wild hair and do it sometime!

The large number of folks in the group shown in the video below is known as Mob Golf.
